Contrary to what he has always believed, CHOMP is not a duck. He’s a duck-billed dinosaur. He ventures out to find his dino family, but must dodge predators before he can figure out where his heart lies.

My dinosaur-loving son, who was five at the time, said: “You should write a book about a duck-billed dinosaur who thinks it’s a duck.” Challenge accepted! Plus, birds really are dinosaurs. The dinosaurs in CHOMP had to be maiasauras, because they are my favorite ones.
